Job Opening Summary
We are hiring a Caregiver to provide compassionate, reliable support for residents in an Adult Family Home setting. We welcome applicants of any gender, as there is no gender preference for this role. This position is ideal for someone who is attentive, respectful, and committed to helping residents maintain comfort, dignity, and quality of life. Free training may be provided through The Long-Term Care Foundation for qualified candidates who are looking to grow their skills and meet care requirements.
Compensation Range
Compensation for this position ranges from $18 to $20 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should have the following certifications and training to be considered for this caregiver position. Free training may be provided through The Long-Term Care Foundation for eligible applicants.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA/NAC)
- Home Care Aide (HCA – 75 Hour)
- Dementia Specialty
- Mental Health Specialty
- First Aid & CPR
- Nurse Delegation Core
- Nurse Delegation (Diabetes Focus)
- Food Handlers / Food Safety
Responsibilities
The caregiver in this role will support residents with daily care needs, safety, and overall well-being while maintaining professionalism and compliance with home and state requirements.
- Personal care: Help with bathing, dressing, toileting, eating, mobility, and hygiene
- Medications: Assist with or remind residents to take medications as allowed and trained
- Meals: Prepare food, support special diets, and help with feeding if needed
- Health & safety: Monitor residents, report changes, and respond to emergencies
- Housekeeping: Perform light cleaning, laundry, and help keep resident areas safe
- Supervision & companionship: Provide oversight, social interaction, and emotional support
- Documentation: Record care and communicate with managers or healthcare providers
- Resident rights: Respect dignity, privacy, choices, and cultural preferences
- Training & compliance: Maintain required certifications and follow state and home rules
Additional Skills and Attributes

- Experience or comfort assisting with Hoyer lifts

Shift and Schedule
This position may include Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, and On Call shifts. Flexibility is important, and candidates should be prepared to work a variety of schedules based on resident needs and home staffing requirements.
