Free Training Sponsorship

Start your caregiving career with support. The Long Term Care Foundation provides free training opportunities for eligible caregivers working in Adult Family Homes. After gaining initial work experience, caregivers may qualify for sponsored certification programs that help build professional skills and open the door to long-term careers in healthcare.

These training programs are designed to help caregivers gain the certifications required in Washington State, including programs such as Home Care Aide (HCA) and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Additional specialty trainings—such as Dementia Care, Mental Health, and Nurse Delegation—help caregivers develop the knowledge and confidence needed to support residents with a wide range of care needs.

Home Care Aide Certification (75 Hours)

The Home Care Aide (HCA) training program includes 75 hours of instruction covering essential caregiving skills, safety procedures, and resident support. This certification prepares new caregivers to begin working in long-term care settings and meet Washington State requirements.

Certified Nursing Assistant (108+ Hours)

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA/NAC) program includes approximately 108 hours of training, combining classroom learning and practical skills. CNA certification expands career opportunities and allows caregivers to provide a broader range of healthcare support.

Specialty Care Trainings (from 3-8 hours depending on the training)

Additional specialty courses such as Dementia Care, Mental Health, and Nurse Delegation help caregivers develop advanced skills for supporting residents with complex care needs. These trainings build expertise that is often required when working in Adult Family Homes.
